Like most credit card holders I am sure you are carrying a balance on your credit card. Now to most this is a burden that they would not like to think much about. However, this oversight is possibly costing you HUNDREDS of dollars that you COULD BE saving!
One of the most common and easily found credit card offer is the 0% APR. With this type of credit card, significant savings is possible!
Skeptical? Well then read on!
It is best to show this with an example:
Let’s assume you currently owe a balance of $5000 with 14% annual interest rate. This means in 1 year, it will cost you $740 in interest alone. Is this a significant amount to you?
You can easily be saving the money you are spending on interest rate payments!
If you transferred the balance of $5000 to credit card that offered 0% APR balance transfers, you would not be spending the additional $740 for high interest rate payments. Instead, you could use the money to help pay off your debt. In our example it would reduce your balance to $4260 whereas with your previous card you would be owing $5740.
In this example, by switching to a 0 APR credit card, it offered a $1500 difference in the credit card balance and resulted in $224 savings in interest payments until the 0% APR credit card offer expired.
Once the 0% APR offer expires, you should repeat the process and transfer to another credit card offering 0% ARR interest and no fee balance transfers. To accomplish this, you need to be sure that you maintain your credit card score.
Continuing with our example, let’s assume that the credit card offer has just expired leaving me with a $4260 balance. If the interest rate was not reset to 14%, the interest payments would be $636 OR you could repeat the process and transfer to another credit card thereby reducing your debt again to $3624.
Using this method you will save money and reduce your debt.
In this example by using the 0 balance transfers, I saved $1400 and can use that money to reduce my debt payments by $1400. This doesn’t include your usual payment or any additional payments that you could be making. With additional payments, you can help exponentially pay off your dept quickly.
In this example if you added $100 per month in additional payments to the money saved in interest for two years, your dept would be nearly reduced to half ($2600). If I had not taken advantage of the 0% APR, my balance at the end of two years would have been $3700 because of the additional $1,100 in interest expenses.
With this debt management strategy, the $5000 dept would take 4 years to pay off, or sooner if you incorporate additional payments. However if I did not it would have taken 6 years, or even longer if I missed payments.
Hundreds of options are available, and huge savings are potential. It is a matter of thinking longer term and paying attention to the details. Take 5 minutes to compare 0 APR balance transfer credit card applications and start saving money that your are currently spending when you don’t have to.

The highly anticipated MacBook Air hit finally stores earlier this year and for most Mac fans, it really does live up to expectations.

With all the press the MacBook Air is getting, it wasn’t going to be long before we at 800HighTech managed to make these available on finance for all Military Service Members and Civilian DoD’s regardless of past debt or bad credit history.

MacBook Air Now Available On Finance From 800HighTech
So why all the hype? For starters the MacBook Air has managed to cram a powerful 1.6GHz (or optional 1.8GHz) Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an 80GB hard disk (or optional 64GB solid-state drive) and Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor into an extremely slim line casing measuring just 0.16 to 0.76 inches, whilst at the same time, still offering the comfort of a full sized backlit keyboard as well as a large 13.3 inch screen.
A couple of things you will immediately notice about the slim design is the absence of an optical disk drive and the reduction of video and audio in’s and out’s. As standard the MacBook Air only comes with a DVI output (which can also support VGA by the use of an included adaptor), one USB port and an audio out. This may seem like a drastic measure to save space but Apple have done their best to compensate for this by incorporating remote disk technology (keep reading for more information about MacBook Air’s remote disk technology works).

I am sure everyone has heard about it, but what exactly does it meant to have your identity stolen and how much of a threat is it actually.
What is Identity Theft
Identity theft is a catch-all term for crimes involving illegal usage of another individual’s identity. The most common form of identity theft is credit card fraud. While the term is relatively new, the practice of stealing money or getting other benefits by pretending to be a different person is thousands of years old.
According to the non-profit Identity Theft Resource Center, identity theft is sub-divided into four categories:
* Financial Identity Theft (using another’s identity to obtain goods and services)
* Criminal Identity Theft (posing as another when apprehended for a crime)
* Identity Cloning (using another’s information to assume his or her identity in daily life)
* Business/Commercial Identity Theft (using another’s business name to obtain credit)
Identity theft may be used to facilitate crimes including illegal immigration, terrorism and espionage. Identity theft may also be a means of blackmail. There are also cases of identity cloning to attack payment systems, including medical insurance.
How Much of a Threat is Identity Theft to Me?
Surveys in the USA from 2003 to 2006 showed a decrease in the total number of victims but an increase in the total value of identity fraud to US$56.6 billion in 2006. The average fraud per person rose from $5,249 in 2003 to $6,383 in 2006.
Defense Link Article About Military Member Identity Theft Battle
The 2003 survey from the Identity Theft Resource Center found that :
* Only 15% of victims find out about the theft through proactive action taken by a business
* The average time spent by victims resolving the problem is about 40 hours
* 73% of respondents indicated the crime involved the thief acquiring a credit card
* The emotional impact is similar to that of victims of violent crimes

Choosing The Right Type Of Monitor Display

Whether you’re buying a new monitor or replacing the display on your existing machine, there are a few points to consider. Technology has progressed quite a lot in the recent years giving users a lot more options when it comes to monitors. First it’s important to know if you require a CRT monitor, an LCD or a new HDTV.
CRT - Cathode Ray Tube Monitors
CRT or Cathode Ray Tube Monitors are big and bulky and have been used in conjunction with PCs for many years. They are relatively cheap compared to newer LCD and HDTV monitors, and are compatible with all PCs. Resolution is high quality and can be changed to suit screen size or the users preferences, but as the signal is analog, CRT monitor will not have a DVI port and therefore will not directly support High Definition. If you have an up-to-date graphics card graphics card you may be able to connect your HD cable, satellite box top or HD-DVD to your computer however you will loose quality as the HD signal is converted into analog to be displayed on the CRT.
LCD - Liquid Crystal Displays
LCD or Liquid Crystal Displays were first produced in the US back in 1972; however it took quite a few years before LCD monitors were available on the consumer market. Over the last 10 years Flat Screen LCD monitors have become increasing popular as they save space and have better options for newer digital connections like HDTV, plus they usually have more audio option for home theater style set-ups. LCD monitors can produce crisper images than CRT monitors but they can only do so in their native resolution. Attempting to run LCD panels at non-native resolutions can result blurriness and multiple kinds of HDTV Blur. In general LCD monitors can not truly display as many colors as a CRT. LCD’s can also cause migraines and eyestrain problems due to flicker from fluorescent backlights fed at 50 or 60 Hz however this quite rare.
Plasma Screen Monitors
Plasma Screen Monitors are commonly used for large TV displays. Plasma Displays were introduced around the same time as LCD monitor but due to the nature of the components; they are the most expensive type of display monitors. They produce a much crisper image at a higher resolution than LCD monitors. They also support a wide array of video and audio connections for digital or analog use. The superior brightness, faster response time, greater color spectrum, and wider viewing angle of a plasma monitor makes them one of the most popular forms of display for HDTV, however recent improvements in LCD technology have narrowed the technological gap.
We have started adding some pretty amazing big LCD and Plasma screens to our stock. To View 800Hightech’s Range of Monitors Available on Finance For Military Service Members, Please Click Here>>>
Specifications to consider when choosing between the different types of monitors:
Resolution: This is the amount of pixels that can be displayed horizontally x vertically. A higher resolution means bigger and better quality graphics. Standard and most easily viewed CRT resolutions are usually:
- 15″-800 x 600 / 1,024 x 76817″
- 17″-1,280 x 1,024
- 19″-1,280 x 1024
- 21″-1,600 x 1,200
Plasma technology enables bigger screens and higher resolutions in excess of 1920 x 1080. LCD screens also come in large sizes but will have a native resolution for optimal viewing.
Refresh rate: The refresh rate is the measurement of the number of times per second the screen is redrawn. This measurement is measured in hertz, the faster the refresh rate the better quality the picture.
Dot Pitch: This measurement is found on most monitors. It defines the amount of space (in millimeters) that separates two adjacent pixels that are the same color, the smaller the Dot Pitch, the sharper the image.
HDTV Compatible: If you’re looking for a monitor to incorporate your full home theater then HDTV compatibility is certainly something you should look for.
