Let’s face it, not everyone can afford to go out and blow hundreds of dollars on a versatile touch screen or home automation system in order to simplify their life. Whether a hardcore audiophile or casual TV watcher, somehow we still end up with way more remotes and portable handheld devices than we can handle of course resulting in many valuable hours wasted searching when one is lost.

The Multimedia Remote Control Wrangler (aka Remote Wrangler) has taken a novel approach to remote control storage that will be sure to take the world by storm, that’s right it’s not a jock strap, it is in fact an ingenious piece of headgear specifically designed to keep you remotes under control.

Remote Wrangler

Made from a stretchable fabric and utilizing Velcro for its anti-gravitational properties the device can store all manner of remotes and gadgets round the users dome. As an added bonus it also doubles as a battery-powered temporal massager, what more could a couch potato want!

There are two styles available to suit ones taste, first is the red white and blue “Retro Sportsman” model, which has proven to be very popular in the Asian market. The other is the demure “Antique Olive ” model that caters to the conservative crowd who may prefer a more discreet and formal appearance.

So if you’re single (or would like to be), have no friends whatsoever, and don’t even mind personal humiliation, keep an eye out for the Remote Wrangler to hit electronics prank departments sometime in the distant future.

gPod Virabtor The Newest Japanese Sex Aid

The Japanese love technology so much that now even sex toys are on the cutting edge.

gPod Sex AidThe gPod vibrator, is designed to respond automatically to sounds picked up by an accompanying handset, which can plug into anything from a telephone to a music player to a television. The sounds it receives are then detected by low, medium and high music frequency sensors and sent on to a distinctly phallic joystick.

When activated, the user experiences a chorus of vibrations that correspond to the chosen music or voices. According to Ichiro Kameda, the gPod’s inventor,

“You can use it in many ways, for example hooking it up to your mobile phone… so one of the ideas is that you can use it here in Tokyo when your boyfriend in New York is talking to you on the phone.”

Kameda said he had spent four years trying to design a product when he hit upon the concept, although he declined to say how the idea came to him.

gPod Vibrator Sex ToyThe gPod made a splash at the first-ever sex toy expo in Tokyo, Joymind were just one of the nearly 160 companies or groups displaying their products and services at the three day Adult Treasure Expo 2007, also known as SEXPO, where they announced retail prices at ¥25,000, or approx $243.

There is an already accessory on the market for the ipod which incorporates the same kind of technology. Although it’s difficult to say who developed the technology first, Apple started fighting the Japanese company when the latter started applying for trademarks around the world, eventually sending Japanese lawyer and repeated requests to stop using the gpod trademark. The company laughed off Apples requests and said they would fight if Apple ever decides to sue.

It seems the widley popular Nintendo Wii has surpassed its gaming expectations and is now being used by a Vancouver Gym as a Virtual Personal Trainer.

Nintendo WiiThe Canadian Health Club Studio 55 is offering a new form of exercise for people bored with the treadmill or cycling classes - The Wii Workout Station. Clients at the health club are encouraged to use the Wii as part of circuit training, warm-up or cool-down, with the system set up in a 400 square-foot theater room with a large projection screen.

While some other gyms have combined stationary bikes with PlayStations and Xboxes in a bid to win younger clients, a spokesman for Nintendo Canada said this is the first they have heard of a gym using the Wii in its schedule.

Nathan Mellalieu, the owner of Studeo 55, said he decided to bring video games into a fitness environment after watching how much fun some children were having and, more importantly, seeing them sweating.

“We are always trying to break down paradigms and keep things fresh. It is used here to break up the monotony of traditional workouts,” he told Reuters.

OpenMoko Open Source Beat Apple iPhone

There seems to be a lot of hype surrounding the newly released Apple iPhone. Boasted by Apple as a “Revolutionary Mobile Telephone” the iPhone packs new technologies never seen before in a cell phone. well, this isn’t entirely true. Sure the iPhone has Wifi capability and uses Safari explorer to access the web as if using your home PC or Mac but it certainly has its limitations, with the phone only available on contract for 1 year from AT&T and add-ons and widgets only available from registered suppliers and manufacturers, hackers are desperately trying to crack the iPhone to open up its capabilities.

OpenMoko vs Apple iPhone

Enter the OpenMoko Neo 1973(pictured:above left, against the iPhone:above right), first seen last November the Neo 1973 shares a lot of similarities with the iPhone except one very important specification, the Neo 1973 is the only cell phone based on open hardware specifications, this means that all the hardware and software code is open to developers, engineers and designers to build on and potentially create things even far more exciting than the current Apple iPhone. Upgrading your phone applications becomes as simple as downloading a new ring tone or installing new software on your PC or Mac. (Click Here To Read More…)

Semi Transparent LCD Screens

Semi Transparent LCD Screen

Active Inc., a Tokyo-based optical component manufacturer, is working on a transparent liquid crystal optical film as a replacement for backlit LCDs. A see-through composite LCDdisplay works just like traditional liquid crystal displays which are transparent until you run a current through them, at which point all the crystals in the liquid align and become opaque. I guess the difference here is that the screen is backlit by ambient light, which is a neat idea with questionable consumer practicality, but its stain-glass effect is impressive. Transparent TVs have always been a vision portrayed in the best scifi and futuristic movies such as Minority Report.

If you have bad credit here is a way to improve and get new credit now GUARANTEED! Start building a good credit rating for the future. Complete your application for a custom computer from 800HighTech.com.

How To Improve Your Credit Rating

  1. Place a new account on your credit report and pay on time! Most recent entry is positive.
  2. This will cause anyone looking at your credit to take another look even though you have a negative history. Your computer is from 800HighTech BUT your revolving credit account is with Rome Finance Company. We are outstanding at what we do and so is the finance company. People rarely compliment a finance company BUT we have countless cases where Rome has gone the extra mile for a customer who needs and deserves some help. They are automated so each month when you make payment it is automatically reported. Many companies report only bad credit but Rome Finance reports everything. This helps you to build good credit.

  3. Make sure your allotment starts on time as promised
  4. They have opened this account because you have offered an allotment as your method of payment. It is imperative that your allotment begins on time and you should be advised that for reasons unknown to me 1 in 10 do not. You should monitor your pay using the Department of Defense MyPay to make sure this allotment starts when promised. Nobody can do this for you so check and be sure. If the allotment does not start on time restart your allotment IMMEDIATELY!

  5. But I gave the finance company a payment authorization form in case my allotment did not start as promised.
  6. If your allotment does not start, Rome Finance will debit money from your bank account at their earliest opportunity to do so. At this point you will already be 30 days delinquent and that is reported automatically. Their interest is in getting paid, not protecting your credit, and that is up to you. Make sure the allotment is started again or ASAP to maintain your good credit with Rome. If you send a new allotment they will get you a fresh start. Do nothing and you are delinquent and it is reported automatically.

  7. You can make additional purchases at preferred prices added to this account.
  8. Qualified customers can add purchases to their account at preferred rates available after a few payments by allotment. These can be upgrades for their computer, additional computers, cameras, printers, etc. This account is very handy. Need some memory or a thumb drive? Just order online at preferred prices and add to your account and we will ship to you wherever you may be. Having a friend in the computer business makes owning and using your computer a lot easier. You can even purchase gifts when you are deployed ship them to your family and add the purchase to your account.

  9. You can add out of warranty repairs on your account at preferred prices if you handle your payments satisfactorily.
  10. Rome Finance wants your experience with this purchase to be trouble free BUT they cannot authorize extra charges on the account if payments are not made in a timely manner. They expect payment by allotment as promised when you opened the account. Failure to keep this promise will cause you to have difficulty accessing benefits available for our customers.

  11. Cleaning up old bad accounts is the final step to good credit
  12. Old accounts do not go away and if you want to have good credit in just three years you have to contact and pay off old bills too. Many will waive all past due and late charges f you will start a new payment plan with them and keep it. This is up to you and you will be glad to have the peace of mind that comes from having all your accounts handled in a satisfactory manner.

  13. Accept responsibility for your current credit and take pride in how you handle it from now on
  14. Many customers with good credit are in the same career position as you BUT make no excuses when something is wrong. They accept responsibility and pay their debts. It is up to you to be sure that your bills are paid on time as agreed. If you do that your life will be so much easier and so will your career. We can help you if you cooperate with us as outlined here.

Start and Maintain Your Allotment is the First Step

If you do this as our customer, we are always available to assist you with everything. If you do not keep your first promise there will be little anyone can do to help you with your credit.

Nintendo DS Portable Game Player Financed for Military Armed ForcesThe Nintendo DS portable game player is helping Japanese women in Tokyo maximize skin care health. Japanese women soon will be using the Nintendo DS game machine for helpful beauty tip such as taking extra fluids and monitoring skin tones. The dual screened touch panel Nintendo DS has been a big hit with older people and women with new kinds of games such as brainteasers and virtual pet games. The gaming crowd has largely been made up of young men fond of shooting and sports games.

The Nintendo DS skin care software works by the user inputting their daily body temperature and weight by marking a graph that shows up on the touch panel. The beauty navigation software asks questions that the player answers regarding criteria such as skin tone and smoothness, as well as exposure to sunlight and hours of sleep. Advice on a daily regimen for healthy skin pops up on the screen, including directions to drink more water, or to eat apples and ginger, food that had a reputation for warming up the body. Hormonal balance is key for avoiding wrinkles and age spots, and body temperature and weight fluctuations are good indicators for any hormone swings, which can get awry from overwork and stress, according to Konami.

What Would General Patton Do?

General Patton Decision MakingWell for openers we are not implying General Patton would advise you to buy a computer from 800HighTech. When he was planning battles they didn’t even have computers. BUT I am quite sure what he would advise to assure you make a wise decision on anything would be gather all the good intelligence available and verify that it is accurate. Then taking all the important factors into consideration and weighing the importance of each, make a decision and act on your decision! In battle as in life sometimes timing is everything.

Many great men in history when faced with a decision would take an ordinary piece of paper and draw a line top to bottom. On one side of the line they would write the reasons for a certain decision and on the other the reasons against. They would look at the pluses & minuses, weigh the facts, make a decision and then they would act! I suggest you do the same on this and when faced with any big decision. It may help you to crystallize your thinking, I know it helps me.

Consider

June 9, 2007 | Author: Rich | 664 Views | | Print Print
Filed under: 800HighTech

Many unsophisticated consumers believe an initial lower price means a given item is the least expensive BUT that is not always true. Sometimes the costs are hidden and you just keep paying them.

:: Considerations When Purchasing a Computer ::

Can the item you purchased be upgraded?

Many large manufacturers still sell computers with parts that are proprietary. If you can upgrade at all it must be through the OEM. Usually this means unusually high expense to upgrade or that you must buy another computer

How easily can 800HighTech upgrade?

We do upgrades on your purchased computers at cost and ad the charge to your account. If your account is 6 months old and you are current most often you will not be asked to increase your allotment. The items can either be shipped to you or we will install them for you at cost. What could be easier or less costly??

What about service and support?

As a member of the US military you either are now or very soon you could be overseas where many companies are unwilling and most are unable to provide you competent warranty repair and/or phone technical support. We have toll free numbers and will call you back wherever you are to diagnose and resolve problems. On warranty repairs we pay shipping both ways. What could be less costly than that?

Sometimes your wife is the one with the computer and she depends on you for tech support so who does she call when you are deployed. Sean & Casey make sure dependents get help to be up & running whenever you are away. If your computer goes down whatever the reason you want help now. Nobody does that better than 800HighTech. How much is that worth?

What about shipping problems?

If your computer is shipped to you via the USPS there is always the risk that your item could be lost or stolen. USPS has a cumbersome BUT reliable claim service if the shipper knows how it works. Often it takes six months though for a claim to be paid. Most companies refuse to ship your replacement until they have been reimbursed.

At 800HighTech we know the USPS system. If you sign the claim form we send a replacement on the 30th day. Lost or stolen does not happen often (unless you are in Korea) BUT if it happens to you having purchased from 800HighTech is a comfort.

What about the high finance charge?

Members of the US military enjoy great finance charges from AAFES using their Star Card etc for mass produced computers on base. BUT if they want a custom built system such as offered at 800HighTech most of those same credit unions won’t extend credit to our customers for computer loans. The better question is what would it cost for anyone to finance a computer off base? Again most of our customers would be turned down for credit off base. At Sears, Circuit City, Dell , Sony etc. BUT if they were to open an account most companies charge more than 800HighTech. Our finance charge for people with bad credit is better than your CO with perfect credit would pay at the aforementioned companies.

Plus we offer one year rebates on all finance charges if the purchase is paid within one year. People who say our finance charges are high just don’t know what is really available.

What if I void my warranty?

Most companies will void your warranty for ANY excuse. At 800HighTech that is hard to do unless you are impossibly rude & difficult. We want to keep your computer running at peak performance for as long as possible so that when you are ready to buy another you buy from us. We replace parts & refurbish older systems and provide fresh warranties when other companies refuse to help at all. Nobody will deny this unless they were rude and difficult.

What is the bottom line?

People who talk only about price also forget that some military customers don’t have cash or credit and still want and need a computer now. Having a reliable company who also arranges credit makes ownership of a quality system possible immediately.

In two or three weeks you will be enjoying the system you could only dream about while building or rebuilding your credit. Those who purchased the cheapest system for cash will not be having the same experience and if they encounter a problem will begin to see there are other factors to consider besides price.

We have done this for over 10 years living and working overseas with our customers. I have answered my phone from 0700 till 2300 accepting calls from customers. Sure we have critics BUT they are not customers. 99% of our customers are very well satisfied with us. The 1% is like the guy who having finished paying for his computer wrote his e-mail of complaint anonymously. I checked his file and he had never contacted us for support. It was as if he wanted to be wronged. If you have a complaint tell me and I will address it. Tell somebody else, which is common, and they will have to fix it because I won’t know.

Why

800HighTech has sold and delivered over 10,000 computers to members of the U.S. Military over the last 10 years. All were shipped with no down payment from the service member and with a satisfaction guarantee. Less than 10 were ever returned in our 10+ year history and 40% of all the sales we make each week are to current customers or their friends. No other company has this degree of customer loyalty and there are numerous reasons why.

When you are deciding where to get your computer, shouldn’t you at least consider a company with these credentials?

If the advertised price alone was the most important reason for buying a computer we would not enjoy such success. Our customers have discovered other factors that are more important than the advertised price and some of those reasons are listed here. If you are still looking for a computer please read these and decide if any or all of these reasons are important to you.

Cash on Hand

Do you have the cash to buy whatever you want? If so you will probably purchase elsewhere and these reasons will not be important enough for you. If you have near perfect credit and still are interested in a computer from 800HighTech, Contact Us and we will determine if you qualify for our preferred financing plan.

10 REASONS WHY SO MANY MEMBERS OF THE US MILITARY OWN AND CONTINUE TO BUY COMPUTERS FROM 800HIGHTECH

  4. Do you want a custom built computer or customized notebook laptop?
  5. Do you need shipping to an APO/FPO?
  6. Do you want your shipment insured so that if it is lost or stolen you will receive a replacement in a timely manner
  7. Do you need an on site warranty world wide for your first year?
  8. Do you need lifetime technical support by the people who sold, assembled and built your computer?
  9. Want to establish or re-establish credit?

Microsoft Surface, Future of Computers

New Microsoft Surface Computer, Future of Computers

Bill Gates will manage one of the highest-profile transitions in American business history and computer technology. Before stepping down as chairman of Microsoft (currently $300 billion company that he co-founded over 30 years ago) and moving on to philanthropy, Gates will head a few more high-tech projects and hopefully achieve his goal of bridging the physical and virtual worlds. A secret covert project code named Milan and is 5 years in the making was top secret until recently being unveiled to the public at the Wall Street Journal conference. The project involved transforming an ordinary tabletop into a brilliant, interactive surface with effortless interaction with digital content through natural gestures, touch, and physical objects. A revolutionary aspect of Microsoft Surface is its natural interaction with everyday objects and technologies with an intuitive touch-sensitive 30-inch tabletop with nothing but your fingers. No more computer mouse, keyboards, or wires. The multi-touch interface allows the user to have hands-on control of photos, music, maps, and more. The coolest feature I liked was the photo resizing and stacking that is similar to Macintosh’s Apple iPhone’s zoom gestures.

Microsoft Surface New Digital Video Display TechnologyThis idea is nothing new and is not the only company eyeing the new market, but it has never been more than a prototype until recently being exhibited at the All Things Digital conference.. Microsoft Surface made several appearances in movies like the futuristic movies Minority Report and The Island. This new technology, the brainchild of Stevie Bathiche and Andy Wilson, is breaking down the traditional barriers of people and technology by providing an effortless interaction with digital media. It is apart of Intel’s vision of the near future where devices work seamlessly together. This innovative computer has price tags running $10,000 a unit. Microsoft however expects prices to plummet over the next three to five years to the point that it will be available for every home.

Computer Memory for Custom Built Computers

May 30, 2007 | Author: Rich | 1,232 Views | | Print Print

Deciding on computer memory for most of us doesn’t mean much. For those who do understand, they know that selecting the right computer memory can mean a world of difference in performance of your computer. It’s been said that you can never have enough money, and the same holds true for RAM, especially if you do a lot of graphics-intensive work or gaming. Next to the CPU itself, RAM is the most important factor in computer performance. If you don’t have enough, adding RAM can make more of a difference than getting a new CPU!

RAM is the best known form of computer memory. RAM is considered “random access” because you can access any memory cell directly if you know the row and column that intersect at that cell. When you think about it, it’s amazing how many different types of electronic memory you encounter in daily life. Many of them have become an integral part of our vocabulary: RAM, ROM, Cache, Dynamic RAM, Static RAM, Flash memory, Memory Sticks, Virtual memory, Video memory, and BIOS.

If your system responds slowly or accesses the hard drive constantly, then you need to add more RAM. If you are running Windows XP, Microsoft recommends 128MB as the minimum RAM requirement. At 64MB, you may experience frequent application problems. For optimal performance with standard desktop applications, 256MB is recommended. If you are running Windows 95/98, you need a bare minimum of 32 MB, and your computer will work much better with 64 MB. Windows NT/2000 needs at least 64 MB, and it will take everything you can throw at it, so you’ll probably want 128 MB or more.

We will discuss the benefits of memory and how to decide how much memory your custom computer or custom laptop should have. You can always upgrade later, but it is best to get the right memory first.
