I was surfing the net on my PSP the other day and thought ‘Why not check out the HighTech Blog and see how it comes up on here.’ To my dismay it did not show up too well, so I added a theme for mobile users. However, on mobile phones you may still have some display issues. Oh well I tried. Anyways, I thought this would be a good time to introduce a portable gaming device that we offer that can do just about everything and display our blog and site well!
Blog now supports viewing from Sony PSP, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii!
Let’s start off with the leader portable gaming pack, the Sony PSP. Sony PSP gaming system is the first truly integrated portable entertainment system designed to handle multiple applications‚ music, video, photo, internet, and wireless connectivity, with games as its key feature. The PSP system features an unmatched library of entertainment content, combining more than 135 games and more than 430 feature films, TV programs, and videos on UMD from major studios and record labels, as well as downloadable content from the internet.
Get all the thrill of Sony Gaming packed into this high tech portable deal. It doesn’t get more portable than this when taking your gamin on the road. The wireless features allows for quick setup multiplayer gaming (most PSP games support multi-player - both online and PSP-to-PSP). The Sony PSP was designed to make the screen as wide as possible and graphics as clean and bright as possible. All of the top label games are already available with more to come including: Grand Theft Auto, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2, NBA 2007, Need for Speed, Metal Gear, Portable Ops, and the list goes on. As we all know Sony likes to keep to its own, which is a positive if you have a bunch of Sony Products. Games are saved on the Sony Memory Stick Duo, allowing you to slam in high capacity cards or swap data with a friend. You can even share elements of your game with friends that don’t even own the same game!!
Sony has taken the Silver Screen and resized it to alloy users to put it in their pocket and watch a movie instantly. The Sony PSP does not compromise quality when display videos on their LCD display. Again, videos can be stored on your Sony Memory Stick Duo to allow for easy swapping and storage preferences. Full length movies on a prerecorded UMD allows for robust, high capacity storage medium to allow for the finest entertainment in the smallest of package; especially designed for the Sony PSP. Over 400 movies and TV shows spanning a wide variety of genres. It doesn’t stop there though! Enjoy video web feed, weblogs, or podcasts from any website via RSS. Save RSS or podcast videos to your Memory Stick Duo and enjoy them where you want by click the link.
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated digital content, such as blogs, news feeds or podcasts.
Users of RSS content use software programs called “feed readers” or “feed aggregators”. The user subscribes to a feed by entering a link to the feed into the reader program. The reader can then check the user’s subscribed feeds to see if any of those feeds have new content since the last time it checked, and if so, retrieve that content and present it to the user.
Video Enhancements
Nothing is better than being able to take your photos with you and present them to your friends in great show. High resolution vibrant LCD allows you to show them off quickly. Easily navigate to your Favorite Photos on your Sony Memory Stick Duo or download new ones. Photos on the go whenever you want. PSP includes a great software that allows for a slick slideshow or create a custom wallpaper to personalize your PSP. With the Beaming capability you can shoot your pics across the room or swap them over for printing or sharing with the Memory Stick Duo.
I had the Sony Walkman when it first came out and now I have upgraded to the Sony PSP. Two completely different devices from two different generations, but I did get the same feeling when being able to jam to my favorite tunes on the go. Sony PSP can handle more formats than I have even heard of and store my entire music collection (this depends on your Sony Memory Stick Duo size and format of music). Formats include: MP3, MP4, ATRAC3plus, ATRAC3, WAV and WMA. Lets go back to the UMD and RSS which I mentioned for the videos. Again, pre recorded concerts or behind-the-scenes footage can be played on a moments notice with UMD Music Video. This new format is proving to be on hell of an advancement! RSS feeds can also be used to link to your favorites songs online. Click-Play-Listen.
Our final topic is on what prompt this blog in the first place, Network Connectivity. Make the move and go wirless, be free and enjoy the functionality with Wifi. Communicate with other PSP systems, download, and game with other nearby players. No more wires and be truly portable without limitations. Okay, now for the geeky people and the not so geeky I will get into the details. For most we just click around and get our devices to connect which ever way possible. This is necessary with the PSP and it supports two modes of connections: Infrastructure and Ad Hoc. The Ad Hoc connections allows for the multiplayer gaming and photo sharing with other PSP systems in the area without the need for an internet connection. Infrastructure requires a hotspot with internet connectivity. Some are free, some you have to pay for and others are accidently left open (my favorite since free is usually slow and bandwidth hogged up, and the paid one requires money. The ones accidently opened are usually a good connection with the only user being the guy who left it open). Once on the internet you can do anything as normal: play online games, download (including exclusive PSP online content), or just surf the web while performing Network Updates.
